TOOTH EXTRACTIONS

Tooth extraction is a removal of the tooth. Extractions are done when the teeth are broken, decayed or infected and are not likely to be recovered by treatments like a root canal, fillings or crowns.

Our dentist has specialized in surgery and has 20 years of surgical experience.

A simple extraction is done using forceps to pull the teeth gently from the jawbone and its surrounding ligaments.

A surgical extraction is done when a tooth is broken off at the gum. Our dentist will cut your gum to remove the tooth piece by piece. Once the extractions are done, the dentist will put a gauze pad and advice you to bite down to stop bleeding.

Extractions will reduce the risk of infection and will relieve you from pain.

Dr Pavai heads the Mt Roskill family dentist clinic. She has 20 years of experience in dentistry.

Dr Pavai has specialised in oral surgery in India. She also won the T.C Training Fellowship award with the Royal College of Surgeons of Glasgow. Subsequently, she passed the fellowship exam in oral surgery, oral medicine, and oral pathology in the U.K.

She has worked with the National Health Service in the UK. She has worked in two well-known universities in Malaysia. Dr Pavai is operating in NZ for the past seven years.
